Receptacles, detachably f securing to running- boards.-A device for adjustably securing articles of luggage to the running-board or similar part of a motor vehicle comprises two or more metal elements 3, preferably of inverted channel section, on which the luggage is adapted to rest, secured to the running-board 1 and provided with straight or inclined slots 10, Fig. 3, or with series of holes 4, Fig. 1, through which a pin or slot 5 is passed to engage U-shaped clips 6 fastened to the ends of the luggage-securing straps. Instead of providing a separate and detachable bolt 5, the lower ends of the clips 6 may be turned inwardly and engage the slots 10 when the elements 3 are slotted.
