Luggage and like hobders; receptacles detachably securing to flat bases.-A device for carrying golf club bags and like containers on the running boards or other base on road and other vehicles comprises a member 1 for affixing to the said base, carrying a pair of arcuate bonds 12 and 13 adapted to lie on said base and embrace the base of the container, the bands being pivoted to said member so that they can be adjusted to vary the accommodation be - tween them, the member 7 having pivoted thereto the lower end of an upstanding rod 1, which carries brackets 16 and 20, and fastening devices 18, and is capable of selected angular adjustment by means of plate 3, holes 5, and bolt 6. In one form, a bolt 7 provided with a square or equivalent shank adapted to fit a hole in a plate 10 passes through the running board and is secured by clamping and lock nuts. The plate 10 abuts against the top of the running board and is provided with a hole 11 adapted to receive a securing-screw. Bands 12 and 13 may be provided with slots 14 through which pass securing strap 15 and their movement may be limited by stops 21 on plate 10. The opposing faces of collars 12a and 13a on bands 12 and 13 may be serrated.
