Chemicals and substances.-Charges for foam fire extinguishers comprise bicarbonate of soda or its equivalent and liquorice root or solid liquorice extract mixed together in the dry state and then ground preferably in a high-speed centrifugal pinned disc mill. The mixture is used in conjunction wth aluminium sulphate &c.
