Abstract

213,705. McKelvey, A. L. Jan. 17, 1923. Planes, arrangement and disposition of; planes, connecting to machine; framework. -A rigid framework for supporting a stepped series of sustaining planes B, consists of a lattice girder A projecting from which are struts 5 supporting tension wires or bars 6. A complete sustaining unit comprises a number of these stepped series of planes arranged side by side, each series being supported between two lattice girders A. The girders A consist of upper and lower booms 2, formed of angle strips placed back-to-back, and rigidly connected at their ends to vertically-disposed laced struts 1. The stepped planes B are fixed, by means of angle plates 7, to diagonally-arranged bracing strips 4 which are riveted at their ends to the booms 2. Steering, balancing, and regulating altitude. - Elevating planes C are rotatably mounted in bracket-bearings 8 mounted upon the vertical struts 1.
