A roof structure, for example in an aircraft hanger, comprises a plurality of first beams such as 23, 36', 37', 39, 40 and 41, Fig. 7 interconnected to form a rigid major triangular lattice, a plurality of groups of second beams 61 the beams of each group being interconnected and at least some being connected to beams in the major triangular lattice to form a minor triangular lattice within and coplanar with a triangular space of the major lattice, the major lattice being supported at one or more apexes thereof by posts 11, Fig. 4 having an upward extension 15 from which at least one tensioned cable 35 extends to a beam of the main lattice to provide partial support thereto. The beams are preferably of I-section, in which case they are connected to each other, and to the posts by welding the ends of their flanges to vertically spaced annular flanges such as 16, 17 Fig. 4 or 31, 32, 33, Fig. 5, projecting respectively from the post 11 or from connecting pieces such as 29 and 60. Two forms of aircraft hanger are described with reference to Figs. 9 (not shown) and 11 which show the positions of the main supporting posts 11 and some of the beams 23, 36, 36', 37, 37'.
