Machine guns.-A barrel cleaning device comprises collars of radially expansible scouring material and compression means alternatively arranged on a rod, wire, or cord, and axially slidable thereon so that the scouring material is expanded into the rifling grooves by the axial thrust or pull. As shown, a number of expansible scouring collars 4, which may be of leather and interposed metal washers 5 are loosely mounted on a rod 1 between the abutments 3, 6. The rod 1 is secured to the end of the cleaning rod 2. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also a modification in which there is a single length of scouring material in combination with one or more slidable washers. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
