Abstract

211,988. Pilkington, H. Dec. 8, 1922. Springs, arrangement of. - Axle clips for the suspension springs of tramcars comprise a member detachably secured to the flap on the truck or axle and formed with rims or flanges to engage the sides of the flap, upright parts integral with the member and engaging the sides of the spring, and a part or parts secured on top of the upright parts, accommodation being provided in the member for the spring clip or other connection securing the leaves of the spring together. The member 1 resting on the flap 2 of a tramcar truck is formed with flanges 3 to engage the sides of the flap and side portions 5 within which the spring 6 is secured by a cover 10 and bolts 4. The sides 5, base member 1, and cover 10 of the fitting are formed with cavities 7, 11 to accommodate the spring clip 8. In a modification, the upright parts comprise four parts integral with the base, between which parts the spring is secured by bridge pieces.
