Abstract

211,602. Beach, M. P. Dec. 1, 1922. Dolls.-A doll or toy animal consists of an outer casing of turkey towelling with a filling of rubber sponge, the casing and filling being moulded to the desired form, and the features indicated, by stitching through the fabric and the sponge. Toys so made may be used also for washing the person, as pads for use in brushing silk hats or other delicate surfaces, or as pillows for babies. In the construction shown in Figs. 6 and 7, the fabric casing is formed as a pocket 27 to permit the insertion of the hand when used for washing or brushing. The eyes and teeth are formed by stitching on pieces 14 of white material which are secured behind openings 13, 15 in the outer casing. The nose, chin, and other features are formed bv packing pieces of sponge beneath the casing and by constricting the casing by stitching to preserve the modelling.
