Abstract

211,495. Montgrand, L. de. Feb. 15, 1923, [Convention date]. Seats, arrangement and disposition of.-The floor, footboards, and seats of a motor-car body are mounted directly on the chassis independently of the remainder of the body which is supported on one or more transverse springs carried by the chassis. The seats are spring mounted on the chassis, a connection being provided between the seats and a wheel axle or other unsprung part to reduce the displacements of the seats when the chassis moves upwardly with respect to the axle. The seats are mounted on the chassis by means of springs 18, 19, the rear springs 18 being more flexible than the front springs 19, and the rear portions of the seats are connected to the wheel axle 20 by two-armed levers 21, 23 pivoted to the chassis and' connected by a rod 22, the levers 21, 23 being connected to the front and rear seats respectively by cables 24, and the lever 23 to the rear-axle by a cable 25. This seat mounting may be applied to rigid car bodies.
