Crushers with vibrating jaws. - Interchangeable crushing-plates for machines for crushing stone &c., of the kind provided with teeth or ribs on both sides so that they can be reversed, are formed with the teeth or ribs terminating at a distance from the edges of the plate so that the plate has flat surfaces on both sides at two opposite edges at least, or at all edges if desired, the flat surfaces being adapted to rest against bearing-surfaces of corresponding shape on the machine frame or on seatings provided therein. As shown, the rectangular crushing-plate 1, Figs. 3 and 4, provided on both sides with longitudinal teeth or ribs 2 of triangular cross-section, has the ribs terminating short of the edges of the plate so that at all four edges and on both sides of the plate there are comparatively wide plane surfaces 3 to bear against similar surfaces 9, Figs. 5 and 6, on the seating 5. The surfaces 3 are retracted so as to be on a level with the bottoms of the grooves between the ribs 2, and the plates are provided on both sides at the bottom of the grooves with plane surfaces 12 which bear against corresponding surfaces 11 on the machine frame or on seatings therein, theribs 2 projecting into the slots 10 between the beams or lists 6 of the seating 5. The seating 5 for the stationary plate has transverse lists 13, Fig. 1, on its rear side to engage slots in the frame wall 7, and the seating 5 for the movable plate has an oblique surface 14 at one end. The crushing-plate is formed with internal channels 4 which may extend either longitudinally or transversely.
