Abstract

Panelled work. - The stiles or mullions a used in panelling are grooved entirely along their edges h, the panels c being inserted therein and separated vertically by rails d which are grooved to take the panels and butt against the stiles, which may have beadings f to cover the joint. The top and bottom rails may be similar to the intermediate rails or may be made continuous and provided with a recess or groove h to receive the ends of the stiles or mullions and the panels. In a modification two sets of rails and panels with mullions and cornices having two grooves are used.
