Abstract
208,415. DiÚguez, E. Jan. 25, 1923. Stationary-vessel washing-apparatus; washing- apparatus with screens.-Coffee beans are washed in apparatus comprising a downwardly converging perforated vessel 2 spaced from a container 1, the beans, and the washing water under a suitable head, being supplied through adjacent shoots to the vessel 2, the washing and the separation of the light beans being effected by the churning action set up. During the washing, light beans escape by a passage 8<1> to a secondary vessel 9, 10. The washings escape by a shoot from the space s, and when the beans are sufficiently washed they are removed from the vessel 2 by a shoot 6.
