Abstract

Kettles; lids and covers; handles.-A kettle of the kind having a full width lid opening is provided with a dome-shaped segmental lip c, disposed over the internal opening of the spout, to prevent leakage during pouring. In kettles of relatively large size the lid has a filling opening covered by a part f adapted to be rotated to uncover the opening but normally retained in the covering position by the action of a spring k, Fig. 4, disposed within the turning knob e. A raised point " or dimple m in the lid engages with a corresponding notch in the part f when in the covering position, similar " points " being provided on the lugs to which the handle is pivoted, to hold it in the upright position.
