Abstract

423,623. Teapot &c. covers. DESSAR, J., 5, Museum Street, London. Nov. 13, 1933, No. 31615. [Class 66] A cover for sealing in liquid-tight manner a teapot &c. having a non-liquid-tight lid and a pouring spout comprises a cap formed with a skirt 9 and adapted to be stretched over the upper end of the vessel, the skirt carrying a plug 10 adapted to enter and seal the spout 5. The skirt is made of elastic material such as indiarubber, but the upper part 8 need not be elastic and may consist of hard rubber. The portion 8 may have an annular flange 11 adapted to engage the knob of the lid 3, and where the upper part of the vessel is formed with a groove the lower part of the skirt may have inward projections adapted to engage in it. The invention is shown applied to a teapot of the kind having the spout and handle confined within the boundaries of the walls.
