Abstract

208,006. Maseyk, A. E. W. Dec. 4, 1922. Percussive hand tools; percussive drills.- A hand supported tool or drill is provided with an actuating mechanism comprising a slot in the hammer 11 which engages a pin 7 mounted in a bearing 6 in a boss 5 and held by an adjusting- screw 10. The hammer is recessed to the right to receive, an electrically-driven spindle 16, and to the left is provided with a striker 15. When the pin 7 passes the point 22 on the slot, the hammer is thrown forward by the internal spring 20. The hammer may have ball bearings 12, and vent passages 14, 29 are provided. A modification is described wherein the tool is provided with a square end which enters a recess in the hammer by which it is rotated.
