Abstract
In a baling press in which the bale 37 is compressed against a press door 31 pivotably hinged at 40 to the housing, the door is opened after conclusion of the pressing procedure and the bale pushed by an ejector 36 to slide down the inclined plane formed by the inner face of the door into a bag 35 attached to the housing. A line 33 is connected between an anchor point 46 on the press door and a power storer 34 e.g. a spring or pneumatic cylinder, the power storer being tensioned when the door is open and relieved on closing the door. <IMAGE>
Description
SPECIFICATION
Improvements in a closure device for the press door of a baling press
This invention relates to improvements in ejector apparatus for baling presses and is a division out of application No. 80/32517.
The bale is compressed against a press door pivotably hinged to the bale press and the press door is opened after conclusion of the pressing procedure and the bale removed.
The object of the invention is to develop a device of the said type such that manipulation of the bale to be pushed out of the press into a bag is facilitated.
According to the invention the bale is compressed during the pressing process against a press door pivotably hinged on the lower part of the baling press, the pivot of the press door being arranged parallel to the installation plane of the baling press and the inner face of the door forming an inclined plane for the bale, characterised in that spaced apart from pivots for the press door is an anchoring point for a tow line the opposite end of the tow line being connected to a power storer tensioned on opening the door and relieved on closing the press door.
An essential feature of the invention is that the press door is no longer hinged like a room door laterally on the bale press but like a trap door on the level with or below the baling press with a pivot parallel to the setting up plane.
The advantage is that the inner door face of the opened press door forms an inclined plane over which the bales slide or travel.
When after completion of the pressing procedure and after opening of the pressing door the bale is pushed out of the baling press it moves from the inner bottom face of the baling press onto the inner door face of the forwardly inclined door.
The bale therefore falls as known in the prior art onto the floor, where it leaves various soiling particles.
The bale can simply be further transported by positioning receiving devices, for example, of a fork stacker connected flush with the door face.
Manual operation of the bale is therefore omitted, for example, with known bales the bales have to be raised by hand in order, to be raised onto a pullet or the prongs of a fork stacker. With the press door opening downwards there is the further advantage that this press door according to the invention also forms the holding means for the sack so that the bale can be pushed directly from the press into the sack. Tearing or manual holding of the sack may be omitted because the press door supports and tautly holds the sack.
The sack is firstly pushed onto the opened press door and then attached to the bale press. A further feature of the present invention is that some distance from the pivot there is at least one attachment point for a cable pull on the press door and that the other end of the cable pull is connected to an energy storer, for example, a coiled spring or a pneumatic cylinder which upon opening the press door is clamped and upon closing the press door is released.
In this way any unintensional dropping of the press door is avoided because at this time the energy storer is tensioned and the press door may only open against the force of the energy store slowly downwards in the direction to the floor. On the other hand the press door can be raised without special effort because the energy storer is then released and the press door is drawn under the force of the energy storer into its closed position.
The invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawing showing a side view.
The Figure shows the ejection of a finished bale 37 by an ejector 36 from a press 43 having a door 31 previously closed by a closure hook 38.
In the position shown the press door 31 is open and forms with its inner door face 44 forming an inclined plane for the bale 37 to be ejected along the bottom face of the bale press 43.
The pivot 40 of the door 31 is arranged on the front side of the baling press under the opening of the baling press so that the inner door face 44 always lies lower or at the same height as the bottom face of the baling press in order that the bale 37 can be pushed out without difficulty in the direction of the arrow 47.
The door 31 rests with its outer face on the setting up plane 42; rubber buffers or other distance pieces may be provided and the position of the door is fixed by a cable 33 which is fastened at one end on a fixing point 46 provided on the door side away from the pivot 40 and with its other end fastened to a coiled spring 34 the other end of which is connected to the housing of the baling press 43. The cable 33 is led over a guide roller 41 on the side wall of the press housing. The pivot position of the press door 31 may therefore be limited in the direction of the arrow 32 by suitable stops 49 on the bottom.
In the embodiment shown the limitation of the pivot position 40 is shown extended beyond its pivot 40 by a member 48 which in the open position of the press door 31 engages a stop 49 of the baling press 43. The stop 49 may be a rubber material or other elastic body. An impact damper may be connected parallel to the spring 34 in order to make the opening of the door still softer.
The door opening up in the direction of the arrow 32 serves at the same time as a holder for a bag 35 which takes up the bale 37 ejected in the direction of the arrow 47.
The bag 35 is pushed over the opened press door 31 and fixed around the opening of the bale press 43. The bag 35 is held taut at least on its underside so that the bale 37 can be pushed without difficulty into the bag 35 by the ejector 36.
