Tyres with rims enclosing air tubes or chambers. - A solid rubber tyre 14 is formed at its base with a semi-circular recess 16 the beaded edges 13 having flat, preferably conical, inner faces to seat on the corresponding portions of a twopart rim 6, 7. An air-tube 15 may be fitted, or the space may be rendered airtight by means of a packing-strip 10 and a flap over the rim-joint. The rim flanges may be fitted with internal ribs to engage grooves in the edges of the tyre.
