Description
SPECIFICATION
Scaffolding and Scaffolding Cover
The invention relates to a scaffolding comprising a frame provided with a scaffolding cover essentially existing of a tissue.
Such a scaffolding is known.
The object of the invention is to render this scaffolding safer. For this purpose the scaffolding is characterized by at least one row of loops provided on the tissue. With the aid of these loops the scaffolding cover can be readily firmly secured to the frame. This improves the safety of the scaffolding since the risk of personnel falling off the scaffolding is considerably reduced. This scaffolding is not only safer for the building operators. Also for passers-by since the risk of building material and tools falling outside the scaffolding is reduced or obviated.
The invention relates to and improves, in addition, a scaffolding cover which is apparently intended for use on a scaffolding according to the invention.
The aforesaid and further features of the invention will be described more fully with reference to a drawing.
The drawing shows in
Figure 1 a perspective view of a scaffolding placed against a building in accordance with the invention,
Figure 2 on an enlarged scale an elevational view of detail II of Figure 1,
Figure 3 on a further enlarged scale detail Ill of
Figure 2,
Figure 4 on an enlarged scale detail IV of
Figure 1,
Figure 5 on an enlarged scale detail V of Figure 1,and Figure 6 on an enlarged scale detail VI of
Figure 1,
Referring to Figure 1, a scaffolding 1 placed against a building 2 comprises a framework of tubes, for example, poles 3 disposed at a pitch distance g of, for example, 250 cms from one another, transverse girders 4 and longitudinal girders 5, said tubes being firmly interconnected by means of known tube clamps 6. The transverse girders 4 support boards 14.The scaffolding according to the invention is provided with a scaffolding cover 7 consisting of tissue strips 8 of a width b of, for example, 260 cms and a length I of 10 metres.
Each tissue strip 8 comprises warp threads 9, which are light-coloured in Figure 3, six strips 12 of additional warp threads 10, which are darkcoloured in Figure 3 and weft threads 11.The warp threads 9 and 10 are preferably single-wire round threads, whereas the weft threads 11 are single-wired and tape-shaped. The tissue is preferably made from polyethylene or polypropylene or similar material of high density and is woven so that rain will not penetrate whereas, though to a slight extent air is allowed to pass. In each strip 1 2 at a pitch distance t of, for example, 25 cms loops 13 are formed by holding the additional warp threads 10 out of engagement with the weft threads 11 and by holding all of them on the same side of the tissue.
After the loops 13 the warp threads 9 and the weft threads 11 are woven further in the ordinary manner. The loops 13 in a given strip 12 are alternately provided on one and the other side of the tissue, i.e. in Figure 1 at the spots A on the outer side and the spots B on the inner side of the scaffolding 1. The loops 1 3 are located in the weft direction at a given weft (at given level of the scaffolding 1) on the same side of the tissue. The strips 12 are arranged at a pitch distance s of 50 cms from one another. The loops 13, consisting, for example, of 30 additional warp threads 10 of a diameter of 0.2 or 0.3 mm are strong and can absorb such a high tractive force that they can carry persons likely to fall off the scaffolding 1.
The connection of the tissue strips 8 with the frame of the scaffolding 1 is established by means of the loops 13, for example, by passing longitudinal girders 5 or other tubes or lengths of tubes through the loops 1 3 and/or by tying the loops 13, as is shown in Figure 4, by ropes 1 5 to tubes of the frame.
The tissue strips 8 can furthermore be readily and firmly fastened to one another by interconnecting by ropes 1 6 neighbouring loops 13 of two adjacent tissue strips 8 (see Figure 5).
Each tissue strip 8 as shown in Figure 6 preferably has narrowly joining weft threads 1 7 at uniform distances h of, for example, 2 ms in order to mark the distances h which facilitates cutting off a given length from a stock reel of, for example, 100 ms. More preferably on both sides of a cutting path 1 8 of a width of, for example 0.5 cm two peripheral strips 1 9 of closely adjacent weft threads 17 are provided, the width p of said strips 19 being, for example, 1.5 cms. When the tissue strips 8 are cut off with the aid of heat and pressure the weft threads 20 of the cutting path 1 8 join the weft threads 1 7 of the peripheral strips 1 9 so that a firm end rim is formed.
The provision of loops 13 on both sides permits of fastening the tissue strips 8 on both sides to a scaffolding frame. Consequently, the long strips 8 need not be inverted. Moreover, the interconnection of tissue strips 8 is thus facilitated.
It should be noted that apart from the abovedescribed, highly preferred embodiment of the tissue other tissues may be imagined for example of jute, tape tissues or coated tissues.
