Abstract

205,913. Dunbar, J. H. Aug. 2, 1922. Roller copying-presses ; drying-apparatus.-After passing between the impression cylinders 2 in a copying or like apparatus, the damp web of paper 4 is dried by passing it, by means of rollers 17, 18, 19, between two heated members, the moisture &c. being drawn off by a fan or its equivalent 16 connected to one end of an arched plate 13 situated over the space between the heated members. The heated members consist of two electricallyheated blocks 5 carried in chambers 6 lined with asbestos. Brackets 10, attached to the frame 1 of the machine, serve to support the heated members by means of bolts 12 passing through beaded portions 11 on the lower sides of the chambers 6. A bar joining the electrical terminals 9, 9 holds the chambers against stops 10<a>.
