Abstract

Plates and the like, securing pipes and tubes to. -A kettle 6 or the like is provided with an electric immersion element 1, having a depending stem 2 formed with a coned undercut flange 3 which abuts against the inside of the vessel base, a coned collar 8 and a nut 9 being mounted on the stem so as to bulge the base inwardly to make a water-tight joint. The collar 8 may be formed integral with the nut 9.
