Abstract

Pneumatic conveyers.-In pneumatic suction conveying plants having several nozzles, the aperture through which the material passes from a hopper to a nozzle is automatically opened and closed as the hopper is filled and emptied, and a supplementary air port may be correspondingly opened and closed at the same time. The hopper C is supported by a pair of levers D and a pair of arms h which can turn about an axis d. The levers D are connected by vertical rods e and a cross-bar f with counterweights g and a tension spring g'. A casting E attached to the hopper has an aperture k and a closing plate m and is curved so as to remain in contact with the corresponding curved end of the nozzle b and plate j as the hopper turns about the axis d. One lever D carries a cover n for the supplementary air inlet F.
