Abstract

203,794. Prior, A. C. June 15, 1922. Falling or projected streams, commingling.- An apparatus for mixing two fluids comprises means for projecting one of the fluids downwards in the form of an inverted conical rotating film, the other, also in the form of a conical film, impinging on the inner surface of the first. One of the fluids is supplied through a passage D to a chamber C from which it is projected through a conical passage F provided with inclined vanes H. The size of the passage can be varied by adjusting the inner wall by means of screws N. The second fluid is supplied through a central pipe 3 fitted with a valve E by means of which the second film can be regulated. The films are projected into a chamber R the exit of which may be provided with a cone O having inclined baffles P. The chamber is surrounded by a heating jacket X.
