Abstract
203,080. Little, J. June 12, 1922. Pumping-machines.-The impeller of a centrifugal pump, having axial inlet and outlet passages 5, 6 and carrying pump vanes 12, is driven by turbine vanes 2 arranged on the rotor periphery. The impeller annulus 13 is received within a stator flange 19. Steam is supplied through a valve 21, which is actuated through linkage 26 by a pin 25 controlled by a governor comprising levers 24 pivoted at points 27. During rotation, the weighted ends 28 of the levers force out the flex. ible portions 29, and operate the pin 25. In a modification, two impelders are mounted in series within the same driving turbine rotor.
