Abstract

A metal sheathed immersion heater has a thermosetting or thermoplastic plastics counterplate 24 cast or moulded about the ends of the sheath 10, a threaded spigot 28 being formed integrally with the plate 24 or being permanently secured therein. A metal or plastics flange 22 comprises a resilient sealing gasket 20 against the sides of a mounting aperture in the wall of the vessel when nut 26 is tightened on spigot 28. <IMAGE>
