Abstract

A device for use in mounting on a water closet bowl a water closet seat assembly, such as a hinge rod with a water closet seat and/or lid thereon, comprises a flexible plastics base part 1 for securement to the bowl, and a relatively inflexible cover 2. The base part comprises a base plate 3 with a pair of upstanding end walls 5, 6. The end walls have recesses 7, 8 which are aligned to receive the hinge rod. One of the recesses 7 is adapted to grip the hinge rod and the other recess 8 serves as a guide for the rod. The cover includes a pair of flanges 13, 14, which abut the inner faces of the end walls 5, 6 to retain the cover against longitudinal movement. The cover wedges on to the base part in a downward direction. <IMAGE>
