Abstract

In a method of enhancing the piezoelectric properties of a strip of polymeric film exhibiting such properties which is carried out continuously and at room temperature, a piezoelectric film (17), of e.g. PVF2, is passed past a corona discharge between an electrode (14) and the rear face of the film. To facilitate the making of intimate electrical contact with the rear face of the film, this face can be provided with a metallised layer 17 which contacts an electrically conducting roller 13. <IMAGE>
