Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform an exact and uniform surface treatment of a plastic film, by passing the plastic film to be treated between a pair of rotating roll electrodes to which a high voltage is applied. CONSTITUTION:Use is made of a main electrode roll and a counter electrode roll, consisting of metallic rolls having a surface coated with a dielectric substance (e.g., polyester, chlorinated rubber or silicone rubber). Namely, the top and back sides of a film 3 are subjected to a discharge treatment by rotating a pair of a main electrode roll 4 and a counter electrode roll 1, passing a plastic film 3 between the rolls and, at the same time, applying a high voltage between the electrodes 4 and 1 by means of an electric source device 5 to generate corona discharge between the electrodes.
