Abstract

In a double-acting machine, which may be an engine or a pump, a housing 10 contains hub 14, an input/output shaft 13 revolving in the hub about an axis which is eccentric to the housing, a ring member 15 rotating with said shaft, and vanes 18 in the ring sliding radially and engaging both the housing and the hub at their ends. Chambers 19, 20 are thus formed between both the housing and the ring and the ring and the hub, each chamber having inlet and outlet ports 11, 12 or 16, 17 and being swept by the vanes. The chambers may be connected in series or in parallel with each other. <IMAGE>
