Abstract

A pump having a chamber 13 partially filled with a liquid 11 to present a vapour/liquid interface between two regions H, C of the pump at different temperatures. A buoyant body 10 in the liquid is arranged to oscillate and reciprocate the interface between the regions so as to vary the vapour pressure on the liquid, and as a result the oscillatory motion of the body 10 displaces the liquid against a load. A bellows may separate the liquid in chamber 11 from the pumped liquid. <IMAGE>
