Abstract
An asynchronous generator, monophase or triphase, particularly for power supply of an electric welding machine comprises excitation and voltage supplying windings (UV, UIVI), the terminals of said windings (UV, UIVI) being connected to a set of excitation condensers (C), and at least one supplemental voltage winding in (U2V2), particularly a low voltage winding for each phase to which there is connected at least one reactance (XCC) for maintaining the short-circuit current. In a monophase generator two windings (U1V1, UV) are provided respectively for excitation and constant voltage supplying whereas in a triphase generator the voltage supplying and excitation windings coincide. In welding, the welding current is supplied by the supplemental windings (U2V2). The arrangement of windings prevents the de-excitation of the asynchronous generator when the welding arc is struck. <IMAGE>
