Abstract

The heat exchanger comprises a tube length arranged as one or more planar tube coils 19 carrying a fluid heat exchange medium and mounted in a framework (e.g. of rectangular construction with sides 1 and 2, top 4 and lateral strips 5-10). The tubing is secured to the framework by supports 23. The end of the or each tube coil is connected to respective inlet and outlet couplings (e.g. manifolds 17 and 18) disposed along one side of the frame. The tubing supports 23 may be provided with recesses (e.g. 24, Fig. 4) into which the turns of each coil are received. The construction is preferably of a non-corrodable material with the coil being PTFE or other fluorinated polymers. The heat exchanger is intended for mounting in a tank. <IMAGE>
