Abstract

A seed drill includes a storage container (4) having a number of outlet openings from which seed contained therein is supplied to the ground via a ad metering device provided with a sowing shaft (8) driven at controllable speeds with conveyor wheels (9) located thereon and conducting tubes connected thereto, and is characterised by the feature that the conveying wheels (9) for the conducting tubes from which the seed drops into the tracks produced by the tractor wheels are each rotatably mounted on the sowing shaft and non-rotatably coupled to a sprocket (25) which is rotatably mounted on the shaft (8) and driven by engagement with a sprocket (23) fixed on a shaft (22). The shaft (22), which is driven by the engagement of another sprocket (24) fixed thereon with a sprocket (26) fixed on the sowing shaft (8) and to an adjacent conveying wheel (9), is pivotally mounted on the seed container (4) such that the sprockets (23, 24) may be periodically disengaged from the sprockets (25, 26) by means of an automatic tramlining device, Fig. 4 (not shown), indexed at the end of each bout of the drill. <IMAGE>
