Abstract

A spark plug 32 capable of being made with the same terminal screw, centre electrode and insulator assemblies as are used for tapered seat spark plugs 21, is formed with a shell 33 having a threaded end 31 of standard (14mm) dimensions but with a flat annular seat 35 on the shell and a hexagonal nut portion 34 thereon the greatest width of which is less than the annular seat diameter and is preferably 16mm across the flats. The seat may be formed integral with the shell, welded or brazed thereon, or formed on a separate member retained thereon by a captive gasket. <IMAGE>
