Abstract
Apparatus for the production of ozone comprises a housing divided by partitions into a discharge chamber E and gas supply and gas removal chambers GZ and GA, which chambers communicate by apertures through the partitions (which in the embodiment shown also form two electrodes H1, H2, between which high voltage is applied by generator G), and a pump P for passing a gas to be treated through the discharge chamber. As a result of the arrangement of electrode partitions and the gas flows caused thereby, a thin boundary layer exists between the discharge arc and the surrounding gas, which provides more rapid cooling of the ozone than hitherto and therefore a higher ozone yield. <IMAGE>
