Abstract
An offshore floating tower comprises a cylindrical cap 4 at its upper end connected by columns 2, 3 to a ring of buoyancy tanks 5 having the same external diameter as the cap. These buoyancy tanks enclose a bell-shaped chamber which is particularly filled with air and produces pneumatic damping of vertical movement of the floating tower caused by movement of the surface of the sea. The floating tower is ballasted at its lower end. <IMAGE>
