Abstract

A gas control device includes a member (31) which is adjusted by temperature-responsive displacement means (46) to reduce gas flow as temperature rises, e.g. in a gas oven. The valve member is slidably mounted on a carrier (27) and in axial abutment with an adjuster (28) threadedly mounted on the carrier for axial adjustment therealong to vary the gas flow/temperature response of the device. The carrier (27) is separate from the displacement means (46) but is biassed into contact therewith by a leaf spring member (42). The carrier, valve member and adjuster can be a separate pre- assembled unit. The device is associated with a manually-actuable rotary play on/off valve 12 through which the adjustment of the adjuster (28) is effected. <IMAGE>
