Abstract

The coolant chamber 12 between the flange of a wet cylinder liner 8 and a cylinder block 9 in an I.C. engine is sealed by a ring seal 4 at the upper end of the gap 12. The ring seal 4 is of elastomeric material and may be attached by adhesive or vulcanization to the cylinder head gasket 1. <IMAGE>
