Abstract
In a method of manufacturing wire-reinforced cables, conductors are withdrawn from reels, which rotate on stationary axes, which extend substantially in the direction of withdrawal. The cable is twisted about its longitudinal axis to strand the conductors. The resulting cable is wound up to form a coil which rotates on an axis extending substantially in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the cable. The reinforcing wires are withdrawn from reels which revolve around the stranded conductors opposite to the direction of rotation of the latter and the reinforcing wires are applied to the conductors immediately after the latter have been stranded.
