Abstract

200,251. Welch, W. A., and Whittaker, S. April 25, 1922. Bottoms; foot-rings. -The lower part of the body of a milk churn is extended below the junction, rounded as shown at 5, with the curved base 2 to form a supporting flange 3 surrounded by a reinforcing ring 4 welded on to it, both parts being perforated with holes 6 through which water falling on to the bottom of the churn when upturned can drain off. The body is formed with welded joints so that no upstanding seams are present either inside or outside, and the lid flange 10 may have one or more ventilating channels 9 opening out under the lip 11.
