Abstract

A heat-insulating pipe structure comprises two metal tubes 1 and 2 coaxially held together with the inner tube forming the actual conveying pipe and the outer tube being in contact with the surrounding and protected against corrosion by cathodic protection. The intertubular space contains the heat- insulating fluid and is divided into chambers 4 by rings 3. There may be holes 5 in the inner pipe 1 and holes through rings 3 with sealing caps 7 so that fluid in the pipe 1 can also act as insulating fluid. Alternatively the inter- tubular space may be filled with other fluid or solid insulating material. <IMAGE>
