Abstract

198,569. Graf, C. June 19, 1922. Lenses.-Photographic lenses of the anastigmat type consist of a fixed back combination and an adjustable front combination each consisting of two lenses separated by an air space. The front lens A is movable axially to introduce a desired degree of diffusion in the image. The maximum amount of diffusion is obtained when the lens A is in the position shown, and a sharp image is produced when withdrawn to the position indicated in dotted lines. The front component may have either the positive or the negative lens in front for adjustment. The movable lens is carried in a screwed mount.
