Drawer interlocks; differentially-moved indicators.- The machine described in Specification 17093/14 in which the drawer release takes place in two stages is provided with positive means operated by the action of closing the drawer for returning the keys 9, the operating bail 58 and its toothed quadrant 104 to their initial positions after the indicating drum 26 is locked in position by the pawl 23. For this purpose the bail 58 rigid with the quadrant 104 carries a pinion 105 meshing with a toothed quadrant 102 on a lever 100 operated by the drawer. When a key is depressed, the key-operated bail 10 is also depressed and raises a stop 8 so that a stop 2 on the drawer allows the drawer to move forward an amount equal to the depth of the step 13. Between the moment when the stop 2 reaches the left-hand end of the step 13 and the moment when the drawer is released completely by the stop 8 the indicating drum 26 is set as in the prior Specification. On closing the drawer, as the drawer is almost completely closed the pawl 103 is released from the quadrant 104 and the pawl 23 engages the notched quadrant 24 as in the prior Specification. A stop 7 on a bellcrank 3 in the drawer then rocks the lever 100 so that the pinion 105 is rotated clockwise and restores the bail 58 and its quadrant 104 and the keys 9, through the bar 60 and slots in the keys, to normal positions. A modification of the stop 8 is illustrated in the Specification.
