Abstract

198,282. Armstrong, J. D. Oct. 11, 1922. Confectionery or sweet. meats; ice-creams and like preparations.-A confection comprises a hollow, edible body 1, a plastic filling 5 of congealed or frozen material, such as ice-cream, and a tube 7 through which the filling may be sucked. The body may be of candy and is initially left open for the insertion of the filling and is sealed by a thin end well 6 formed by dipping in candy. The tube 7 may be of hard candy, or other suitable material, and serves as a handle. A wrapper is provided. A vent may be made by puncturing the end wall 8 to facilitate the extraction of the filling. The confection may be made in halves which are independently filled with the filling and are then joined in any suitable manner. In a modification, the walls of the body arc hollow and filled with cake or pastry and then sealed by dipping. In another modification, the walls are made of soft candy and are squeezed to eject the filling.
