Abstract

197,504. General Electric Co., Ltd., and Marris, G. C. April 12, 1922. Filter circuits.-A filter circuit for preventing waves of high frequency reaching the input electrode of a telephone repeater valve includes a choke coil 8 with inductance, capacity and resistance in series and parallel so related to the constants of the remainder of the circuit that the ratio of the grid voltage to that of the primary of the input transformer is sensibly constant for frequencies up to a certain value and then decreases rapidly. In the example given, the grid circuit includes the input transformer 4 with resistances 10, 11 which are usually alternative, the choke coil 8 in parallel with a condenser 13 and a resistance 9, which may be alternative or supplementary, and a large resistance 12. A resonant circuit 14 is provided in the output circuit of the valve to give a sharp cut off at the critical frequency.
