Abstract

583,377. Generating high frequency oscillations. CLIFFORD, F. G. July 7, 1944, No. 12974. [Class 40 (v)] An electric oscillator, incorporating a tank circuit which is variable to tune the oscillator over a wide range of frequencies, is coupled to a load by a band-pass filter formed by a tuned transformer, the primary of which is tuned by a parallel condenser and tho secondary by a series condenser. The electrical oscillator O is coupled to a resistive load R2 through an output valve and a band-pass filter L2C2, L3C3. The condensers C2, C3 may be ganged to the condenser C1 of the oscillator.tank circuit and by having suitable values for the inductances, the mid-band frequency of the bandpass filter can be made to coincide with the oscillator frequency over the whole range covered, at the same time keeping the efficiency of the band-pass filter constant. The above circuit is designed to reduce the harmonic content of the oscillator output. Specification 577,608 is referred to.
