Abstract

196,113. British Timken, Ltd., and Loader, F. Jan. 26, 1922. Ball and roller bearings.-In a roller bearing in which the rollers 3 are spaced by a split spring cage 1, the openings 2 for the rollers are closed at the ends, and after the rollers have been inserted in the cage, the latter is expanded and slipped over the ridge 5 of the inner race into its working position. The cage is suitable for conical or cylindrical roller bearings or ball bearings, and may be stamped from a tube or from a. sheet metal blank.
