Abstract

195,892. Akt.-Ges. der Maschinenfabriken Escher, Wyss, et Cie. April 29, 1922, [Convention date]. Pulp, preparation of.-In utilizing the waste heat of cellulose digesters, the waste liquor from the boilers is run through a tank 4 and along a counter-current apparatus, passing down the inner pipe 5 while fresh water flows up through the outer pipe 6 to the tank 10, from which the water for the fresh lye is taken. The vapour and steam from the boiler are first discharged to the tank 10. The tank 4 may be provided with sieves or other means for separating solids from the liquids. Also the tank may be closed and the waste liquor from the boilers discharged thereinto by pressure, the vapour and steam being subsequently discharged therefrom into the hot water tank.
