Abstract

195,301. Kitchen's Reversing Rudder Co., Ltd., and Alexander, J. R. May 25, 1922. Rudders ; propeller guards.-In duplex rudders of the reversing type, a short supplementary vane is provided within and a short distance from each of the blades and forward of the axis. To the blades a, bare attached short supplementary blades c, d which are secured in parallel or angular relation thereto and forwardly of the axis for the purpose of reducing the power required to operate the rudders. The main blades have a larger portion f aft and a smaller portion g forward of the axis.
