Abstract

194,204. Kodama, R. May 13, 1922. Cylinders receiving liquid fuel.-A twostroke-cycle oil engine has a terminal exhaust p o r t 14 and an auxiliary exhaust, valve 18 in the cylinder head and a compressed air or steam valve with a non-return valve in the pipe behind it. Scavenging air may be provided through mechanically actuated valves 16 and 22, which remain open after the exhaust ports are closed; a second scavenging air valve may be provided in the cylinder head and the valve 22 dispensed with.
