Abstract

Rafts.-In twin-deck reversible life-boats or rafts such as are described in Specification 107,779 the normally lower section of the boat is devoid of thwarts and the lower surface deck is inclined at each end b<3> so that the water has a substantially free passage from end to end, the gunwale of the lower section and the longitudinally locker seats terminating at each end of the boat at a point near that at which the sides of the boat begin to curve towards the stem and stern posts. Water penetrating into the aircasings D, Fig. 5, is evenly distributed by the transverse pipe if supported by the keel K. In the event of the normally lower side falling upwards in launching doors hinged at either end of the locker seat are closed to prevent water from washing fore and' aft the boats.
